I started capoeira! A Brazilian martial art developed by brazilian slaves, it was disguised as a dance since at the time slaves were not allowed to learn fighting technique, and capoeira was a way to defend themselves against their slave owners. I'm down right addicted, and I can't get enough of it. Soon I'll be learning eddy gordo back-flip kicks, and when you see me in my capoeira pants, ohhh god orgasm and a half baby. There is a batizado, or main event this Saturday that I'm really excited about, so if anyone is going to be in the Tucson Area this weekend (Clay) I totally urge you to come see the amazingness of the martial art.

Well there's so much to say about college. Well, actually not much, other than staying up til 1:30 writing useless english papers after doing 3 sections of calc and having an interesting political debate with a moderate republican who likes to talk a lot. But yeah, just another night in the dorms. And I'm really thinking about eating those brownies...should I? Ah, I've got the reputation going. I have morals. Wait, do I?

Is smoking as bad as drinking? Is it worse? Your thoughts.

01:28 pm - CLAY IS GOD
Let me give out a HUUUUGE thanks to Clay for helping me put together my little romantic scheme and making Annissa an I's 6-month anniversary work out so well. Annissa couldn't have been happier. Clay, if you didn't know, took the afternoon off of work to walk in the heat to the flower shop, then hitch a ride to the school and deliver the flowers and chocolate to Annissa during class. Clay, you're my best friend and the most amazing person I know (besides Annissa and my family) and I thank you a million times over for helping me on this one.

12:51 am - IT'S BAAAACK
That's right, ladies and gentlemen, the one and only anti-emo/indie/people who liked napoleon dynamite and garden state but are really intellectually challenged but just act like they're smart and love the movie journal is back!!! The one and only author is now taking ENGLISH 101 and will be dishing out oodles of amazing tales of the college life, in MLA style with 1.5" margins and a works cited page! Strike that, reverse it, this will be an unorganized journal with rants and raves about who rocks and who sucks at U of A. Can I be that mean? Should I publish everything I hear/do/say/shit? I'm sorry, but I don't think I have the time to do all of that, but I will entertain you, the reader, and myself since LJ is no longer an actual journal, but more of a free blog page for people to read. So enjoy.

Let's get started with one experience I've had at U of A. Ah, fuck that, let's talk about all the damn conservatives that are plaguing this college campus with their VIVA BUSH signs and YOU KILL BABIES posters I see all around. It's re-fucking-diculous to see how college students who drink, smoke, fuck, and be merry are any where close to conservative! Last time I checked the map that kind of behavior falls to the left, where your vote for president should go! I've found out that it's too late to change over Bush supporters to vote, and of course Kerry supporters aren't going anywhere. So I figure, anyone left in the middle, who really dislikes either candidate but can't bring them selves to vote for Kerry? Just don't vote! YOU CAN'T BE BLAMED!!! It's win-win. Whichever president is elected, you can say to your friends "hey, I didn't vote for him" and you'll rock out with your penis out. As long as you don't vote for Bush, you all are my friends. And even if you do, I'll be your friend on the outside, but on the inside I'm creating fireballs to throw at you.

On a lighter note, acting is going well, and I made friends with the head director of this guy's film production company! He also happens to be my scene partner for Drama, and I am very excited about the scene we're doing together, because it involves the word "masturbation". Anyways, this guy Matt is casting me as the male lead for his upcoming short! It's not so much the acting I'm excited about, but being able to work on an indie movie set for the first time, see how things work, and see if I could ever live up to directing/producing on my own makes one more positive for going to U of A.

Lot's more to tell later on. Hah, later on, remember that one? Well I've got a new phrase for ya.

Ex.

Mike: Did you see that Republican get eaten by that tiger shark and then get set fire to by Richard Simmons?

Nick: I so did dude, that was EPIC! (Epic being the new word/phrase)

So there you have it, a return of the journal entries you've long been craving for.

Oh one more thing. To quote from this one guy’s aim profile, “Garden State was like watching the WB on the big screen!”

Never a truer statement…

05:04 am - FUCK POKER
I hate my life. Putting down $20 blind and dealing out hands to 4 people is NOT fun and NOT profitable. Oh, unless you're Mike fucking Irish and win $110! But noooo, you're Nick fucking Zautra and lose $75.

But besides that. I leave in a week from today to U of A. I haven't really been keeping up with LJ or even my old aim buddies. I am sorry for this. I miss all of you, and realize I have concentrated too much on playing a dumb game. Even though my profits fall in the $500+ range (excluding tonight, of course), it still doesn't add up to missing out with friends, and especially girlfriends. But it all will change once college starts anyways. I'll post my dorm info, ah, second thought, I'll hook you up if you ask for it.

My classes at u of a include:

*Stagecraft
*Calculus with Apps
*Acting I
*Psych 101
*English 101

17 credits...piece of cake! I'm telling ya, it will be easy street my friend.

God I miss computer games. I'm playing Doom 3 right now which officially scares the shit out of me. With your headphones cranked up, walking through dark hallways and blasting fat zombies with lead pipes, it's intense. But I miss Ted, Ryan, and Matt, and all of geeky computer game fun we used to have. I even miss DAoC. That's right, you heard me, I miss it. But I'm taking the notebook to college, so it'll be all aim and solitaire game from here on out. Oh and of course poker online.

Ya know what? Lets start a respoonse chain, right here, right now. Reply to this post with one of the things you'll miss most about highschool. If you're still in it, go from a past experience or make something up.

And tiffany that canada pic spread a little more than I wanted it too...Chez even saw it!

10:46 pm - Who says I don't update anymore?
So it's the middle of the summer, and I can seroiusly sum up the month of June like this:

*Played Poker a lot
*Watched movies a lot
*Slept in a lot
*Chilled with Annissa and friends a lot
*Played Poker a lot

And that's about it. I visited U of A last week and figured out my major(s): I'm getting a BA in Political Science, and a BFA in Acting...isn't it perfect? If this plan works out, I will be in the U of A theatre company, and in April they are doing Rocky Horror!

Early tomorrow I'm leaving for Hawaii with Annissa and her friend Casey, then right after I'll be in Canada on the Super-Fundamnetal Christian hike (I've got a holster with a pocket bible in it). It will be just like the movie saved, without the hilarity of macully culkin or the hotness of mandy moore. But hopefully the hike will be satisfying.

I miss most of you. And I'm sure one or two of you miss me. Ask me about the 19th, and if you're cool I'll tell ya what's up.

03:51 pm
I had a dream last night. A very vivid dream. I dreamed I was not on a boat to heaven, but it was move-in day to the dorms of U of A. I hadn't met my dorm roommate yet, and I was pretty nervous. I was late, as usual to about everything, and it seems like this guy was already moved-in. I went to my dorm room and saw a crooked KNIX sticker already hung up on the door. I knew right then I was fucked. Of course, it could have been "The Postal Service" or "Edge 1039" sticker, so I continued on in.

My dorm roommate didn't have a face, but he was a dude about 5'11'' white kid and kind of chubby. He had his computer hooked up to a TV and had already claimed "his space". We shared some brief small talk and that was it. End of conversation. He went back to watching tv and working on his comp, and I just stood there. Yeah that was a weird and boring and shitty dream.

Luckily I'm rooming with a black man! And not just any blackman. Can you guess who this blackman is?

09:20 am - I fell into a hole and almost died...
Not really, but it sure felt like it! I just spent 16 hours straight with 2 meal breaks editing my humanities movie. Though that might sound like hell, it was actualy quite satisfying and rather exhilirating. All this weekend I couldn't think about anything else but the movie, except well, Annissa because she's so funny and weird it's hard not to think about her :) But about editing. Making a story come to life...it was just awesome. Except that it took almost as long to get some software working then it did to actually edit! Chris and I spent about 5 hours trying to get Pinnacle Studio 8 to work. We ultimately had to download a trial version of Pinnacle 9, and that's what we had to use to edit the whole movie! And as I'm writing this I'm waiting for the damn thing to render, and record to the tape. This will be my 6th attempt of recording. I've spend the past 2 hours waiting around the computer and then finding error messages. I'm sick of it. I'm giving the computer one more chance to get it's act together.

And so the last few days of highschool begin...I am so excited for the summer. I have no idea what graduation present I'm getting, but apparently my parents have had it figured out for a while. Hopefully either a cool laptop and/or they'll pay for me to go to a NY film academy camp. Time will tell.

01:40 pm
I've been so lazy when it comes to writing lately. But since I have hours and hours of homework to do today, I thought I'd put off actually doing any and write a little something about yesterday.

So Annissa made All-State orchestra AND choir, and their big concert was last night up in Flagstaff. When I asked her earlier in the week whether she wanted me to go, she didn't come right out and say it but I could tell she would love for me to be there. So me being the sly devil that I am, told her I wouldn't be able to make it, but with the intention of showing up and surprising her. I even called her around 5 from the road saying I was doing something at my dads, blah blay blah. So I drove up with my mom to Flag around three and arrived at the concert just in time to see the orchestra perform. I looked through all the black dresses of girls to find Annissa on stage, then BAM on she comes wearing a red polka dotted dress. Damn that was hot! Anyways, the orchestra kicked the crap out of any mdn orchestra I've seen. That is because, of course, it wasn't under the direction of Mrs. Palmer, the mormon anti-christ.

After the concert ended, I waited around in the heard of parents for Annissa to appear, and once she did, she was so surprised she screamed out "NICK!" making everyone's head turn. She is so cool. I presented her with flowers and a big kiss for working so damn hard to pull a performance like that together.

We went out to Red Lobster after in Flagstaff. Unfortunately, Mrs Palmer was Loli, Annissa's mothers ride home, so she was their to eat with us. Right in the middle of dinner, it started snowing! Annissa and I rushed out to share what little snow was falling on us. It was quite peaceful. Ok, fuck peaceful, it was awesome and HOT. She had only seen snow twice, so it was nice to share that moment with her.

The drive home was fun as well. We handled 3 hours in a car together exceptionally, and I really did enjoy the time we spent together. She kept telling me this has been one of the happiest days in her life, which really made me feel so happy as well to have created some of that happiness.

*

Today, lots of homework to be done, as well as finishing up the god damn seminary story that was due like 3 months ago. Ah well, time to write something meaningful.

I want everyone who reads this to ask me three questions; no more, no less. Ask me anything you want. Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste, and allow your friends (myself included) to ask you anything.

Give me a break, I worked my ass off today! And I'm full of meat lasagna so give me some good questions.

Is the icon good enough now?

I've been tired all day. Mostly due to the fact that I stayed up til 1am WINNING poker tourney's on pokerroom.com! I'm gonna be the next Chris Monemaker, just you watch! Seroiusly the guy went from winning a big tourney online to winning the world poker tour and 2.5 mil in cash. That'll be me, someday...

Anyways, today there were a lot of firsts:

*First day dissecting cats.
-Anatomy will now be so much fun!
*First time Annissa, frosh valedictorian ditched class with me.
-Haha not valedictorian for long...
*First day of one-act rehearsals.
-I feel they went pretty well, and am very confident in the cast I have chosen. I really look forward to working with all of them, and hopefully create some top-actors at MDN out of the newbies.
*First of two PFP rehearsals for the HIV virtual:
-Since Meesh had to go, Britta is now in charge. I can't say I'm overjoyed, but I've always missed Britta and it did bring back memorizes of the first couple years I was in PFP. And CHELSEA is so awesome! Everytime I see her she always brightens my day. She is the coolest person and I owe many thanks to her always being such a wonderful person! You rock!

I stopped by Alberto's or whatever, an Amado's like restaurant on the way home from rehearsal to pick up a Ham 'n Eggs burrito, and I must say, it was better than the actual Amados. And the dude called me amigo like 10 times. I felt special.

So much homework to do. And the weather fucking owns! I'm gonna go skim-board at my park at midnight once the rain has collected. It'll be great fun. Ah what it's like to feel like a kid...
